Festive Friday #2

It's Festive Friday time again. I am off to CHA today. I am very excited.... Why you may ask??? Sakura Hobby Craft is bring out a new line of product with my name on it... OMG... don't wake me.. I like my dream life... So today I had to show off a little of my new line..

Here is what I did and what supplies I used:
Supplies:
Terri Sproul Mixers - Jewel Effect - Ice Blue Pearl
3-D Crystal Lacquer
Creative Paperclay®
Dew Drops - Aqua Marine
Ribbon
Merry Chirstmas Stamps from Michael Strong
Fiber
snowflake cookie cutter
Palette Hybrid Inkpad - New Canvas - Stewart Superior
Snowflake stamp
Miracle tape - this is the best stuff for ribbon and more...

Directions:
1) roll out Creative Paperclay® to about 1/4" thick. press snowflake cookie cutter shape into the clay m(remember to add you hole while clay is still wet). Set aside to dry...
2) cut black cardstock to 4/14" x 5 1/2" - Mix "Ice Blue Pearl" with Crystal Lacquer. Paint onto black cardstock. let sit for a few minute for the lacquer to dry. then ink up your snowflake stamp with "New Canvas" ink and stamp onto background...
3 Stamp "Merry Christmas" onto light blue ribbon. Adhere ribbon to bottom of card with my Miracle tape.
4) When you Creative Paperclay® snowflake is dry - sand if needed... Then I mixed more of my "Ice Blue Pearl" mixers into more Crystal Lacquer and painted the snowflake.. Add a few Dew Drop while the lacquer is still wet. Works great as an adhesive... add some fiber and I am done...

I like this project because they get a small gift with the card. Great for a teacher or neighbor..

At the CHA winter show - Sakura Hobby Craft is introducing a new line of products. These "Jewel Effect" can be mixed into 3-D Crystal Lacquer and creates a paint like product. Golden Wings

I have been playing with my new line of product coming out with Sakura Hobby Craft at CHA this winter show. I am so excited. Yesterday I made this project.

I just love how she turn out. It's not very large, it's a 3x3 inch canvas in the back the the smaller canvas is 2 x 2 - I painted the canvas with my Gold and Gold Dust "Terri Sproul's Mixers Jewel Effect" the body is made of Creative Paperclay® and painted with Terri Sproul Mixers - I used Red Satin, Green Pearl and Bronze...
The wings are also made with the new Terri Sproul Mixers....

Here is a close up of the wings.. ARE they pretty or WHAT???

Festive Friday #1

WOW, what a year, 2011 has gone away and now we are starting over.... It's a brand new year and a great time to start making those Christmas Cards - YES, I did say Christmas Cards... I do this Festive Friday Christmas Hop all during the year. On the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month (except Dec) I will host this Festive Friday Blog hop. Where I hope to inspire you to make some of your Christmas Card early. I know its seem crazy, but I really love having all different Christmas Cards for the first time ever... So I have to do it again.

Miracle tape from Viva Las Vegastamps! - Can't live without this stuff - works so good on ribbons.

I just got a new set of Mica color from UsArtQuest called "Vintage" so I had to play with them. Adore the colors of this palette. First I embossed the tree image on top Cream Cardstock. then I just started to paint. I used the green color on the tree tops and the brown color on the trunks, then I added some of the blue around the edges. LOVE.....
I had this Creative Paperclay Pointesseta and paint again using the Mica Color from UsArtQuest.
Stamp "There is no place like Home" with my Memories Dye ink directly on the cardstock. Added the ribbon with my Miracle tape. the only way to glue down a ribbon.

I am so sorry, I have not been posting on my blog. I am so crazy busy with CHA. what is CHA - CHA is the Craft and Hobby Association - it's the large Craft Trade Show in the world. I have so much exciting stuff happen at CHA this year I don't know where to start.
As far as my blog - I am starting up the Festive Friday Blog hop again. This group of blogger makes Christmas Cards all year long. We do this hop on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. I hope you stop by and see our Christmas Cards. First post is Jan 13, 2012.

I am a self taught Mixed Mediaartist who lives in Virginia with my wonderful Art Husband and our furry familyof 5. With a very traditional artisticmother we were blessed to be exposed to many different artists in our visits tofine art museums across the Country. Although my college days led me to a business degree it was my love ofart that found me taking fine art and photography classes over severalsemesters. When I was introduced toMixed Media, approximately 8 years ago, my first love was the use of vintageimages because they so reminded me of some of my favorite museum works.

Ann Krier

Ann Kristen Krier is a self-taught, mixed media artist who began creative pursuits in early public school, supplimenting formal learning with art workshops at the University of Vermont. Later, inspired by the talents of grandmothers and aunties, who willingly shared their "art stuff" from fibers to water colors, she began to combine materials into new creative techniques for mixed media. Her creative life includes a commitment to sharing ideas through books, articles, workshops and her artist's statement: "The artist's journey should never stop, but rather pause temporarily to share with all the world, what she has been fortunate to discover." Born in upstate New York, Ann and her husband Jim currently live in the piedmont region of North Carolina with three of four "children" - lax man, soccer girl and "Murphy" the eighty pound lap dog.

Becky Thackston

Hi everyone! I am so excited for this opportunity with USArtQuest! I have been a scrapper for over 18 years now. Over the last few years I have added in painting, quilting and started back drawing again after a 20 year hiatus. Art...in all forms...is what I love most and it makes me so happy to lock myself away in my craft room and just make items all day long. Very theraputic! I love looking around and grabbing ideas from signs, pictures and odd ball items. I am a mother of 2....they are 21 and 18. My youngest will be graduating next year. I am also a new grandmother to a wonderfully sweet 10 month old...Danie. She is the light of my life. I am married...to the sweetest guy who doesn't mind my crafty addiciton..for 13 years. If it envolves paint, glue, paper...I'm in :)

Sally MacDonald

Sally Lynn MacDonald has been an avid mixed-media artist since 1998,

when her first child was born. Subsequently, after the birth of twins,

she quit her high-tech career at IBM to be home with her growing family

 "This is when creativity became a survival skill!" she says.   
She has been a professional instructor for several years, specializing

in techniques and multi-surface applications. She travels extensively,

teaching workshops at stores and events throughout the United States and Canada.

Her most recent assignment was with the C-Thru Ruler company,makers of the brands

Déjà Views, Little Yellow Bicycle and ART-C Mixed Media products as the

Creative Director for the Art-C brand.  She is a member of the Copic Marker

Design Team and was on the certification instructor team for the past two years.

She does sample and catalog work for several companies, including Faber Castell.

In addition she has been a certified and/or endorsed instructor for 7 Gypsies,

Art-C, Graphic 45, Little Yellow Bicycle, Prima, Ranger, Tattered Angels, Websters

Pages and Clear Scraps. Her prior design team and guest blogger experiences include

such wonderful companies as Cosmo Cricket, Hero Arts, Kanban Crafts, Prima,

Spellbinders and Tattered Angels. You may have seen her on a couple of nationally

televised segments on HGTV’s popular craft series,‘That’s Clever!’. She is developing

self-paced, video and instructor-led workshops online, to be live in 2012.

Sally Lynn and her husband Neil have been married for twenty-four years and live

in Connecticut with their children, Brianna and the "Twinkies," Cameron and Courtney.

Lea Cioci

Lea Cioci CPD CPT is a freelancedesigner and serves as a demo artist, instructor, and design consultant toseveral companies in the hobby industry. Lea's work has been published inmany paper arts magazines, C&T publication books, Design Original books,and contributions to other published arts and crafting books. Lea has worked asa demonstrator and educator for Plaid Enterprises as well as a USAQ Pro. Currently, Lea is also a Ranger Ink Educatorand Certified Copic Designer. Joe Rotella

Joe's mom always enjoyed crafting so he grew up in a crafty home. Heloves detail and 3D work and paper piecing is his specialty. Joe’s workhas appeared in Scrap & Stamp Arts and Just Steampunk! magazines. He’sfilmed a segment of Crafting at the Spotted Canary with Joy Macdonell(airs on PBS Fall 2011) and has won Archiver’s One-of-a-Kind Wall Artcontest (Ohio, August 2011). He’s on the Viva Las Vegastamps! designteam. When he’s not designing paper art projects, he works as CTO atDelphia Consulting.

Kristi Parker Van Doren

Hello, my name is Kristi Parker Van Doren and I live in Missouri, the Show Me State! I live with my husband of 23years and our 2 children. I have been involved with paper crafting for over thirty five years. I was introduced to stamping at the age of 12 and over the years, I have taught many classes at the local stamping and scrapbooking stores. I have also worked the retail side and am a previous store owner. I love to create a large spectrum of projects with a broad range of styles. I have been blessed to attend CHA and demo for several companies. My style varies depending on the materials I have on hand and what is called for on any given project. I have worked with some wonderful companies and have been published in a variety of magazines. I love creating cards, altered arts, home decor, and scrapbooking. In my spare time I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, jewelry making and recently started woodworking! I’mPeg Rounds and I am so happy to be returning as a design team member for TheRobin’s Nest. Carole Lassak

In addition to paper crafting Carole enjoys a variety of handcrafts and fiber arts, including needlepoint, crewel, knitting, crocheting, beadwork, and lacemaking. She regularly travels abroad to study the dying art of handmade bobbin lace. She incorporates mixed media techniques to create unique jewelry and paper art pieces. Carole holds Tombow Techniques Basics certification. Her design team membership include Sakura Hobby Crafts (Apr-Sep 2011), Amazing Mold Putty (Oct 2011-Mar 2012), and The Robin's Nest (Jan-Jun 2012). Her favorite food is sushi, especially sea urchin. “I think any piece of raw seafood on a pillow of rice would delight me.”

Becky is a mixed media artist and craft industry designer living in Southern Maine. She's a retired U.S. Marine, mother of 2, Nana to one. A CHA Designer member, the art of creativity is her full-time passion. Published and versatile, Becky thrives with new ideas and welcomes custom requests.

Erika Taylor

Cutting rings of paper to create garland, making ghost gum from glue, and adding a little too much glitter to any heart I drew. The creative bug bit me at a very early age and I've never looked back. Hi everyone, I'm Erika Taylor and I'm a craftaholic!!! In 2008, I decided to start paper crafting and one thing led to another. I'm blessed to have been on numerous design teams over the past few years and I'm expanding my own creative muse to include so much more than just cards and scrapbook layouts. I love getting inked up to create mixed media projects and if I can alter something, I will.
I live in Southern Alberta with my loving, very attractive and supportive husband Mark and our 2 boisterous children age 4 and 7. Anything to do with Vampires and the Fantasy Realm gets my attention, and yes that includes Twilight! I love Italian Sweet Cream in my coffee and there is nothing better than cupcakes with extra frosting(unless that something better is chocolate). I'm moved by the colors around me, emotions and the media. Creatively, I embrace change and love to try new things and I'm super excited about being a part of The Robins Nest design team. You will always know its me because I say "toodles" and "ABSOLUTELY" a whole bunch.

Irit Shalom

My name is IRIT and I am from sunny ISRAEL. I am really thrilled to be again on Robin's Nest DT and hope to inspire you all with new and different projects. In my "real life" I am a dentist, but for the last 5-6 years I do it as a part time job, because I need some extra time for my scrapping and crafting addiction and I have a lot of fun doing something else after 25 years of dentistry. I have been married for 29 years to a retired high police officer, who is the full time family cook these days. I am a mom to 4 grown ups: 2 sons and twin daughters. The empty nest is probably the main reason for my obsession for crafting - finally I have some time for myself. My oldest son is an army officer, married and a Dad of my first grandson Omer. The second one is " a world traveler" - for the last 6 years after his army service he is out of Israel for at least 9 months a year- lives and works in Spain. My twins are in their last year of college and my major scrapbooking inspiration. I need to say that I have been totally addicted to crafting since I was a little girl. For many years it was a polymer clay and jewelry making, but after I saw a scrapbook layout for the first time in my life (only 5 years ago during my visit to USA), I finally understood that I am in love with paper. Today I mostly scrap and do altered art and less card making. My style is mostly shabby and vintage, but sometimes I move to other styles too, all, but clean and simple one. I have been a design team member in about 9-10 challenge blogs and was a guest designer on lots of others during the last years, but since a last 2 years I design for manufacturers only. Right now I am a permanent designer for UK chipboard company named Tando creative, A2Z Scraplets Australian company,Pretty Little Studio paper company, Creative Inspirations Paint, Epiphany Crafts Tool company, WOW embossing powders company and Inspired by Stamping stamp company. I was a DT member for Best Creation paper and Cherry Lynn Designs die company for a year term, SNR staff member and a Guest Designer for several USA companies in the past. I was published in print in Israel several times and was published in every possible web magazine during the last years. Last, but not least- my other addiction is..... folk dancing. Clare Demspey

I am the eighth of eleven children,seven girls and four boys. My husbandand I have been happily married for 18 years and have two boys. I havean Associates degree in fashion design, a bachelors degree in Apparel Designand Aesthetics and a Masters degree in Family and Consumer Economics.

After graduating, I worked for several apparel manufacturers in theChicago area for short periods, as manufacturing continued to move overseas. Most of my experience is in retail apparel product development. There I helped develop and implement acomputer aided design/spreadsheet software program that is used in apparelproduct development.

I am currently a stay at home momwho is passionate about using my Cricut and sewing machines. I started a non-profit scrapbooking guildwith some friends and we meet monthly to scrapbook and do a little charitywork. I am responsible for maintainingthe S.C.R.A.P. Guild of Northern IL’s blog and Facebook page.

Welcome to another of the 12 Tags of Christmas. Are you have fun. I just love this set of stamps.

I have to admit I do like this tags alot - When I was in Vegas in April, I sent time at Viva Las Vegastamps store - really cool if you have never been there. anyways, I told Wayne we need some 5 petal flowers - so we made 4 sizes. If you visit Viva Las Vegastamps website there is a video section and I teach you another way to use this same flower stamps. Go check that out too.

Welcome back to another day here on the "12 Tags of Christmas Blog Hop" with the Viva Las Vegastamps Design team. Don't they do a wonderful job, I am so luck to work with each of them..

Well here we go again with that "Sleeping elf" - he is just too cute... When I seen that "Santa with the shopping cart, I knew that the "sleeping elf" was a match.

Here is your video on how I made this one, OK, it's just too simple for even a video. I just stamps the "shopping Cart Santa" and "Sleeping Elf"on the tag with my India Ink black ink pad. color in both images. Then I stamped ""here comes Santa Claus" onto white card stock and cut out into to sections (see tag for example). Ink all my edges add a ribbon and I was done. I did adhere my "Here come Santa Claus" down with my Miracle tape.

No video for this one. hope you watch day 1 of this hop I made the santa the same way, but cut him out this time. I stamped "jungle bells" on the background with sky blue dye. Stamp Here comes Santa Claus on to white cardstock with Red Dye ink and cut it out. Again remember to cut your stamp when you need too..
Add a little Ribbon and this tag is done...

How to make a scene with stamps

I know there are a lot of you that are scared of stamps and making a scene.. is just out of the question. Here is a Halloween Scene I made using all Viva Las Vegastamps! and I made you a video. Festive Friday

It's the 2nd to last Festive Friday for this year. Wow, what a year. I can't believe for the first time, I have all my Christmas Cards done and they are all different, I know it might sound silly, but that really makes me happy. I would like to take a few minute here and thank all the ladies who do this hop with me, some of them have done, I believe all for this year. Special Thanks from me....

Supplies:
Background paper is from Robin Nest
Poinsettia is a stamp - Unknow
Drew Drop from Robin Nest in Center of Flower
Merry Christmas stamps is Tim Holtz
Gold and Black Embossing powder
bleach
Mica Paint
ribbon
Red and Black Cardstock

Directions:
stamp Poinsettia onto Black Cardstock using embossing ink and emboss with black embossing powder. With a paint brush, paint bleach over the whole image. After paper is dry, paint image with Mica Paints, I used Red and Green... Add Drew Drop to Center after you cut out image.

I embossed Merry Christmas also with Gold embossing powder.

This is one of my personal favorite right now.. LOL... until my next card.

Christmas Cards

I will be continue to make a few Christmas Cards the rest of this year. I just love how this one turn out. The Christmas Ball has two layers of Crystal Lacquer on it so it look like glass. LOVE THAT...
anyways, all stamps are from Viva Las Vegastamps!

Supplies:
All stamps are Viva Las Vegastamps!
3-D Crystal Lacquer
Ink from Stewart Superior
white Cardbase
white Cardstock
Miracle Tape

Directions:
1) Stamp Christmas Ball onto white cardstock with black or colored ink - up to you. I stamped in black ink and them took my Chalk ink pad and added ink to my Ball. I used a gold marker on the top of the glass. I then covered the whole image with 3-D Crystal lacquer. set aside to dry..
2) Stamp "elf" onto white cardstock and color in image and cut out. set aside.
3) On the white cardbase, I stamp twice "pine Leaves" using Pine Tree Green dye ink.
4) Stamped "merry Christmas" with Ruby Dye ink in bottom corner.
5) using the same Chalk ink I used to color the Christmas Ball - I ink all the edges of the card.
6) Once my Cystal lacquer was dry - I adhere the elf on the Christmas Ball with more 3-D Crystal lacquer and then cover the whole Christmas Ball again - set aside to dry.
7) Once the Crystal lacquer was completely dry I added a small piece of wire to top of the Christmas Ball and adhere to the cardbase using my Miracle Tape.

I was so excited to hear about a "Just Steampunk" magazine coming out and too find out I got 8 of my project in there, I was beside myself. Well yesterday, I got my advance copy and was so excited. I got my own two page spread - pages 84 and 85 with three of my mini books - my paperclay book - there is a video on how to make the cover my that book on my youtube channel.
I got my personal favorite project my "Steampunk Mask" - it's here on my blog - check the old posts for it. I was also excited to see lots of Viva Las Vegastamps! made the magazine alone with my other teammate from Viva Las Vegastamps and one from Sakura Hobby Craft. So exciting... I will post more about this soon. I just want to let you know I got published again!!!! so excited...

Here is a video on how to make those 3-D flowers from Robin's Nest paper's - this video is using plan white cardstock - But I made these flowers on this project using the same technique.

Steampunk Blog Hop

Glad you join us on our Blog Hop... I adore - did I say Adore - STEAMPUNK...

Here is my first project I made it's a MINI - very Mini steampunk book

Supplies:

All stamps are from Viva Las Vegastamps!

Glass Tiles: 1" x 2" from Sakura

3-D Crystal Lacquer

Small Gear

Inks: Lots of Brown and light blue, olive, plum.....

Cream Cardstock

Directions:

1) Cut cardstock to 2" x 8" - Start stamping steampunk images using different shade of brown, add a little "olive", "purple" and "blue" in there....

2) after you are done with all the stamping for the inside - score the paper every 1" across... According fold....

3) Stamp more steampunk image on what would be the cover of your book. I used my 3-D Crystal Lacquer to adhere my Glass Tile to my front and back cover. Adhere small gear to side to look like a closure (it's not - just for look) - used my Crystal lacquer for my adhesive...

It's Festive Friday time again... Oh, how I love to make Christmas Cards.. and this year I dont' have to sit down and make them all in one day... This amazing group of blogs has been making Christmas cards all year long with me.. How exciting...

Supplies:
Robin's Nest Paper: Cindy Lou Dots - back side
Stamp: Pointesseta, Merry Christmas
Dew Drop
Card stock: Red and Black
Embossing Powder: Black and Gold
Mica Paints: UsArtQuest
Ribbon
Stapler
Bleach and paint brush
Miracle Tape

Direction:
1) I stamp Pointessa onto black cardstock and embossed with black embossing powder: then I take a paint brush and bleach all the area I want to paint... After I bleach out the black paper I painted my image with Mica Paints from UsArtQuest. Cut out image and added a few Dew Drop to the center. Set aside...
2) Cut my "Cindy Lou Dots" paper to fit the background of my card - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" finished card size... adhere to card base with my Miracle Tape.. Can;t live without...
3) Stamp Merry Christmas with embossing ink onto Red Cardstock and emboss with Gold Embossing powder. cut image out... Add ribbon with stapler...
4) Now just adhere together with my Miracle Tape... Super easy.. really like this one...

Directions:
1) Stamp Image onto black cardstock with embossing ink, emboss with black embossing powder.
2) using your paint brush - bleach out all the area you would like to color in...
3) Paint image with Mica Paints
4) Matt image onto Texture background paper

This is another project I did as a guest design for Creative Imaginations. It was a fun Altered Art project. Hope you like...

Monarch Stencil: #28375 and #28376 – sorry they don’t have names?
8” x 8” EcoArt Board from Rubberstamp Concepts
Light yellow Acrylic Paint
Radiant Rain: Color Concentrate: “Pewter”, “Cooper”
Raidiant Rain: Shimmering Mist: “Ocean Blue”, “Fern”, “butternut”
Embossing Paste
Chip board
Die cuts: Crown and swirl
Creative Paperclay
Black marker
Drew Drops
Rub-on Letters
Gold Glitter Chip Board from Robin’s Nest
Directions:
Started by painting your Ecoart board a light yellow. Lay down your “Monarch” stencil – Heart only. Using a VERY light touch, dap on your Radiant Rain “Butternut” over the stencil, pull off stencil and set aside to dry. after it dries, do the same with the wings stencil using the “Pewter”, set asdie to dry.    Using a make-up sponge I sponged on both “Fern and Ocean Blue Radiant Rain on the rest of the background, until I was happy…
I had a Creative Paperclay heart already molded and ready to use – So I just painted with my Twinkling H2o’s. I added my Rub-on letters around my Heart with Wings image – cut out the crown from Glitter paper from Robin’s Nest and added some drew drop – again from Robin’s Nest.   I painted my swirl die cut with the same Twinkling H2O’s as the Creative Paperclay heart.
Mixed Embossing Paste and Radiant Rain “butternut” together and then added the embossed paste and the stencil #28375 – see video on this step

I just stared to place all the part in place and completed my project.

Used a black pen to add some details. And I was done.. just need to get myself a frame and place on wall or give to my favorite “King of Hearts”

2 sheets of Paint It with Luminarte: Marha Johnson’s “Music Sheet paper”
Radiant Rain Shimming Mist: Ocean Blue

Directions:
Adhere book pages together with Gel Medium – see Altered Book Beginners Video for help. Set aside to dry. My book I adhere a large section together – left back page un-adhered – you will see why later. I adhere a small section in the very front. But you could just have the whole book to be just one page.

Once Pages where complete dry. I started to cut my niche into my book – Size depends on your book and what you want to place inside the niche. After you are finished cutting those pages out – use your gel medium again to glue the inside of the niche. Set aside to dry.

I adhere on both sides of my book pages the “music Sheet paper”. Where my Niche is I cut a “X” from the back and folded all the edges down to made it look complete. I then adhere using my Miracle tape some fabric to the inside of the niche – I did this from the back. You want the fabric to be loose – we will be adding stuffing in this hole next. When your fabric is adhering all around I added some stuffing and then I adhere the back page over the whole thing… See why we did not adhere the back page… Smart…

I stamped out 6 flowers on the Music Paper – three of the flowers I used the black side and the other three flowers I used the light side of the paper, but added Radian Rain Shimming Mist “ocean Blue” to add some color. You could also use your Twinkling H2o’s to add color… So much FUN! See video on how to make 3-D Flowers (this video is using another product – but the flower is made the same way).

After I made two 3-D Flowers I adhere them into the Niche, add two metal flower embellishments – I did add the Drew Drops to the center to more color.
I added some Outline flower sticker to the top right corner and colored with Twinkling H2O’s. I place all my Twinkling H2O’s on my desk with lids off, spray then with water and started coloring.. So much full

On the left had side of the page I again adhere my Music Paper down with my Miracle tape and then started looking for a good quote. I printed my quote onto vellum. Since I knew the vellum quote would blend into the background, I add some twinkling H2O’s under where each of the words would be, this made my words stand out. I adhere the vellum with Miracle tape.
I used this project as a guest designer for Creative Imagations and Luminarte - I will be working on the cover and maybe the inside page - it was a library pocket - Just wait to be played with. So stop by and see how I finished this book..

Directions

Roll outDelight clay to about 1/8” – ¼” thick. Ink Stamp with India Ink and Press stamp intoclay – see video for help.

2) Let clay dry and paint with Patina Green Glaze. Add color lightly and add more as needed…

3) Adhere the Pattern Paper to cardbase withMiracle tape….

4) Adhere the Ribbon to my card with Miracle tape

5) Adhere my Delight stamped image to my card withmy Miracle tape….

Super easy to add some new dimension to yourcards/scrapbook/mixed media project. Pick up a package of Creative Paperclay or Delight soon and startplaying.

I've always been a crafty girl. Having two artistic and crafty parents
certainly helped to push me in that direction! In Junior High school, I entered
art competitions with drawings. About 13 years ago I discovered rubber stamping
and scrapbooking. What a wonderful way to both get your creative groove on AND
do something wonderful for your family. I know my kids' families will
appreciate their scrapbooks when they are all grown up and married! I worked at
our local scrap book store for almost 3 years, and continued to teach there
until it closed May 2011. I still teach at other area stores and am a Ranger
Certified Educator. If it's messy, I can probably tell you what to do with it!

Lyneen Jesse

Lyneen Jesse lives in Bremerton, WA with her wonderful husband of eleven years and their absolutely spoiled schnauzer Daisy. Working full-time she also teaches classes at the local scrapbook store and creates in her home studio. She enjoys stamping, scrapbooking, altered art, collecting vintage treasures and photography.

She started creating at a very young age following in her mothers footsteps. Rubber stamping has been a love of hers before rubber stamping was popular. People have been know to call her “the MacGyver” of paper, since she can create just about anything from paper. Lyneen is the proud owner of thousands of rubber stamps and tons of pattern paper. Like many her style has evolved over time. Vintage has become her all time favorite.

Lyneen has been published in Rubber StampMadness, Take Ten, Stampers Sampler, West Sound Home&Garden and most recently in The Best of Stampington & Company HandCrafted Vol.7

Joe Morgan

Joe Morgan has always been fond of crafting. His favorite holiday is Halloween and, perhaps instinctively, his black cat is named Elphaba (after the wicked witch in Wicked). Joe enjoys stamping, embossing, card making, learning new techniques and some scrapbooking, along with paper crafting home décor items – like garden lanterns with paper silhouettes and an antique finish. He also loves going to yard sales and flea markets where he likes to look for things that are cool or unusual as well as things that he and his partner can use in their craft projects! Joe lives is Columbus, OH with his partner and his pet cat. He is currently on the design team for Create & Craft, where he enjoys developing new class ideas and teaching occasional card and/or technique classes at local stores or exhibitions. He is also on the design team for Viva Las Vegastamps! where he gets to have fun making new projects, and then he gets to blog about them.

Joe Rotella

Joe has been crafting for since he was little. He loves detail and 3D work and paper piecing is his specialty. Joe’s work has appeared in Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine. He’s filmed a segment of Crafting at the Spotted Canary with Joy Macdonell (airs on PBS Fall 2011) and has won Archiver’s One-of-a-Kind Wall Art contest (Ohio, August 2011). When he’s not designing paper art projects, he works as CTO at Delphia Consulting.

Susan Brown

I am a graphic artist by trade in the fast-paced printing industry by day... which supports my creative muse at night...under the web handle sbartist. I am a native of Chicago, and have lived in Florida most of my life. I currently reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with my husband of 19 years. I have been crafting from a very young age and was encouraged to be creative as I was growing up. I am a painter at heart, and I love to learn new things; making collage or assemblage, dabbling in photography, sewing, stamping, mixing it all up. There is a method to my madness, altered, collage-like and experimental. Several years ago I found out about stamping at Stamping Wild {a stamp store in South FL which has since closed}, which led me to the scrapbooking store. In turn I learned all about these things which led me into my latest passion – ALTERED ARTS. I love to make dimensional things, something that pops-up, not just flat on the page…whatever tickles my fancy at that moment. I love to make "Throw-away" collages - making things from scraps and leftovers of other projects. I am also enjoy the practice of Greencrafting and repurposing everyday items into my creations. I'm currently a member of the Unscripted Sketches Design Team, and I am so excited to be a part of the Viva Las Vegas Stamps Design Team.

Twinkling H2O’s of choose to color in swim suite Girlstamped image.

Directions:

Paint Cigar box with White Gesso, Gesso is a primer and willcover all the letter or marks on your box. Then I painted side of box with Cranberry Color acrylic paint. Set aside to dry.

When Box is dry, I mixed “Embossing Paste” and “Radiant RainShimmering Mist Ocean Wave”. Added yourRadiant Rain Shimmering Mist one drop at a time, mixing in between until youget the color you want. NOTE: shake your Radiant Rain bottle well…..

I place my Stencil on side of box, using Glue Dots®removable to hold the stencil in place. Using my palette knife, I add “Embossing Paste” over the stencil – likeicing a cake. I did this step completelyaround the whole box. HINT: start on the back of the box to get a feel ofthis technique. Set aside to dry.

Cut Christine Adoph Paint It Swirls paper to the size of thetop of your cigar box. Paint your swirlpaper with “Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist Ocean Wave” – I applied it with apaint sponge brush. Adhere paper to thetop of the cigar box with Glue Dots® Crafts.

Paint large swirl from Tim Holtz with “Radiant RainShimmering Mist “Green””. Adhere to boxtop with Glue Dots®.

Add Silk flowers using Glue Dots®. I added a gem to the center of my flowers –to add to the bling of all the “Radiant Rain Shimmering Mists” I used. I had blue silk flowers – but IF I did not –I could have used my Twinkling H2O’s, Radiant Rain Simmering Mists or the newPourable to add color to them. How coolis that!!!!!

Stamp image onto EcoArt Board with black ink. Color in image with your choice of TwinklingH2O’s colors. So many to choosefrom. LOVE them all…. Adhere the EcoArt board to box top usingGlue Dots®.

Line the inside of the box with red velvet and it’sdone..

It's Festive Friday time again. I hope you are getting your Christmas Cards done early this year with all of us. I can't believe still I will not be sitting down the weekend after Thanksgiving trying to get all of my cards done in one day. NO stress this year... and for the first year all my Christmas Cards will NOT be the same card to everyone. I really like that idea.

Supplies:
Stamps: Merry Christmas, Santa Post, and Jingle Bell Background stamps all from Viva Las Vegastamps!
Crystal Lacquer
Pop bottle Cap
colored pencils.
Ink: Sky Blue, India Ink - both from Stewart Superior
Holly leave punch
two shade of green cardstock
tag
Scroll work die from Tim Holtz
Red Cardstock
green filber
Miracle tape.
Stickles - Rock Candy - for santa hat.

Directions:
1) from Red Cardstock - run through your die cut machine with the ScrollWork boarder. Set aside
2) I had a few left over tags from an event - So I started with that. I stamp the Jungle Bell's Music stamps using Sky Blue Memories Ink pad all over the back of the tag.
3) then I stamp both the Santa Post and Merry Christmas images using India Ink - or black ink pad. colored in image with color pencils. The I went over the "Merry Christmas" bulbs with my Crystal Lacquer. Set aside to dry...
4) Added image inside of my bottle cap and fill will Crystal Lacquer and set aside to dry...
5) Punched two holly leave with a dark green cardstock....
6) Cut a strip of light green cardstock to my Red background. Added Green Fiber to tag. adhere together with my Miracle tape. ready to mail out....
