Believe

Believe: Is a tri-fold card with a beach theme.
Please feel free to contact me regarding this project and more at Terri@ultimatescrapbookretreat.com or find me on facebook - Terri Sproul.....

Cut double side blue cardstock to 5" x 12" score cardstock at 4" from each side. This will give you a tri-fold card. Then I cut the two outside folds into a wave shape.

I covered the two flaps with Double side Tape (make sure you cover the outside of these flaps) . Added Ultra Thick embossing powder to tape and heated. While Embossing powder is hot add more and reheat - until you get the thickness and coverage you are looking for. I used Superior Cloisonne "Smokey Obsidian" and added just a pinch of Filigree "Sterling Silver" embossing powder (when I add the silver I heated the embossing powder for a while - so it blends in really well.) On the top flap I added a Metal embellishement from Die Cuts with a View.

Inside of the card. I stamp Stampotique's "Tangled" in Palette "Prussian Blue". I stamped Stampotique's "The Town of Goth" onto brown cardstock using Embossing ink and brown embossing powder (both by Stewart Superior). Added light brown cardstock to bottom of card to look like sand. Added a little Tan Chaulk Ink (by Stewart Superior) Cut out the Castle image and adhered to card uing Pop-Dots. Top cornor of card I Using a Corner Punch from Fishars call Heritage.

Altered Books

On Facebook there is a page for "Altered Book Magazine" and each month they put out a challenge. This months challenge was to use a Shrink Potato Chip bag. "Very interesting" I was thinking to myself. So I used up the last of the potato chips and started cutting up the bag. I added heat to the bag with my embossing gun to see what would happen. Again "very interesting" I tried heat just a little and then a lot. But the bag had no color - we need color. So got out my alcohol inks. That worked - I have color. What now. Tried to use my flower punch on it - DON'T - it's still stuck!!!!

Well, I have a older Sizzix Machine with the old die maybe that will work - well it did - BUT i had to hand cut alot of lines. NO fun. But it's done and I like what I had. So I painted the back ground with Black Gesso and added Teal Glaze on top. The left hand side page was part of the book - remember to use the picture and words that are in your book already. Sometimes that can be your insperation. Added a sticker and the Potato chip bag embellishments. Used a white pen to high light the dragonfly flight....
You know i am looking at the photo - i think i will add more details.....

destress embossing powder

On this card I made - I used black embossing powder - but did not want it to be shinny - so I used some steel wool and lightly when over the embossing powder and it's no longer shinny.

I Cut a tag from cream card stock, wrinkled up the tag and sprayed with Memories Mist "Pale Ale". Stamped "full car" by Stampotique using Memories Brown Ink, this completed the tag.
On card background at the top - I stamped "Alpha" also from Stampotique using Stewart Superiors "the Embosser" and "Filigree Black" embossing powder.
Add a compass metal embellishment to add the finishing touch.

Cherish

I just finished this page about a small trip I took to Phoenix to visit some friend. While I was there I had to visit my high school best friends children (all adults now), their mother has since past away. Very Sad, so this picture is "Bitter Sweet". I really enjoy see all of them.

I rip a piece of Light Pink cardstock to make a journal box. I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mask "Time works" and Memories Mists "Pink Lemon aid" to created the background. Added my journaling and a little ink around the edges to distress a little.

I used may white flowers that I spray with Memories Mists to match my colors. The key was made the same way I created the swirl (see earlier posting). Center of each brad used to hold flowers together I add a small touch of Color Crystal lacquer. I added a metal butterfly and a Chip board embellishment.

Grungeboard Key

Here is another embellishment for my new scrapbook page I am working on. I again painted this grungeboard key with Black Acyclic paint. Let dry added some Memories Mists Classic Metallic Purple. Added some Metallic Rub-ons in Gold. Sanded the edges a little to add more distress. Again I love the look.
Remember not to just add one color to your pieces. Have some fun!
