SteamPunk book - WINNER!

Who won my blog candy? First I have to thank all of you for the wonderful things you guys say about my Art. I can't believe I have 209 follower of my blog and over 300+ of my Youtube Videos. I am really honored!
I really enjoy making how to video and wish I could make more. But I have one small problem. I HAVE DIAL UP - yes, I did say dial up - do you feel for me? -
I live onto of the middle of nowhere and I don't want to spend $70 per month for satellite internet - well I would - but husband is laid off right now and money is tight. I know most of you understand that right now...
So back to the good part - who won!

Gears - got my from Viva Las Vegastamps!

Directions:

1) First thing I did was made some molds using my real clock gears. I used my Amazing Mold Putty to make my gears. I have a video on how to use this on the PaperClay blog.
2) After I finish making my molds, I started to make some Paperclay gears.
3) After my paperclay gear where dry I started to paint them. I used Golden's Iridescent bronze and Micaceous Iron Oxide to paint them. Made them look like real gears and NOT paperclay...
4) I found this mask at a yard sale over the weekend and it's was made of wood and painted white... I do believe a paper mache mask would work great for this project too.



5) I cover my mask with Golden Glaze to age the mask some. it was just too white.
6) I stared to stamp the Gear stamp I got from Viva Las Vegastamps! all over the top of his head and a little down the one side of his face... just a little..





7) Add another Gear stamp image on his left cheek using Memories "Chestnut" Dye ink
8) Add a Zipper to his mouth using my Miracle Tape from Viva Las Vegastamps! this tape is great to adhere almost everything down... YOU NEED some of this stuff.


9) Added my Paperclay Gears to the side of his head and then added more Real gear around the Paperclay ones... My mask is done... OMG... I really love it..

Festive Friday #5

It's Festive Friday Time AGAIN. As always we are so excite you joined our little hop, as we make Christmas Cards all year long.
So Here is my card:

Supplies:
glue dots
Large Tag
purple ribbon
Inks: "quite yellow", "plum" Black, baby blue
Cardbase - white pre-made
Stamps: Most are Tim Holtz Christmas stamps, and some swirl stamps.

Directions:
1) Ink both the card base and tag with yellow ink - start at the edges of the tag or card front and get lighter as you move to the center of the tag or cardbase.
2) stamp swirl with plum ink around the edges of both the card and the tag
3) Stamp snowflakes from Tim Holtz on tag with Plum ink.
4) Stamp music sheet in light blue ink.
5) Stamp "Merry Christmas" with black ink
6) Add ribbon to tag and adhere to front of cardbase using Glue Dots

200 followers = Blog Candy!

I would love to get to 200 or more followers of my blog, so I think I will give you guys a chance at getting one of my mini books.. This time I just made this 3" x 3" book using Graphic 45 Steampunk Paper, their Tags and some Crystal Lacquer from Sakura.
So please tell all your friends and let get me up over 200 followers.. Also please check out my Youtube channel also.

This whole book is made with 1 sheet of Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Paper, Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Tags, some eyelet and 3-D Crystal lacquer..




Cover: Used a Tag from the Graphic 45 "Steampunk Debutante Collection Tags. Added some blue Crystal Lacquer to the flowers... added some ribbon...











Page 1 and page 2: Again just used the tag that are on the Steampunk Tag sheet from Graphic 45. You can get your Graphic 45 paper at Gee Gee Stamp and Stuff in Carlsbad, Ca if you live around here. I do some Design Work for that store. There is a link on by side bar... Cute photo of the store too...
Anyways, check out the small tag on the right hand page. See how I used 3-D Crystal lacquer on the dress form.

Can't really see this - but there are three place where there are pockets for tags and stuff..

Page 3 and page 4: Here I used more 3-D Crystal Lacquer on the butterfly boarder across the bottom. Made a tag pocket and filled with small tags from the Graphic 45 tag sheet.




Pages 5 and Page 6: Used 3-D Crystal Lacquer on all three of the images on the right hand page. Pop up the center imges.. there is a tag coming out of the side pocket there?? hope you can see that..





Page 7 and Page 8 - just some tags from the tag sheet. I did use some of my eyelets I own to embellish the tags...






Page 9 and Page 10 - Love the image on the background paper. so made sure it was showing.





page 10 and Page 11 - OMG, I love the Lightbulb tag. HAD to use my 3-D Crystal Lacquer on just the bulb part. Love the way this came out... just love my crystal lacquer...

Glue Dots - Earth Day Project...

Earth Day Scrapbook Page

I love to “think out of the box”, so here I go again. This project is a scrapbook page – BUT it’s most likely NOT acid free – so personal I am going to frame this page – Not put into my scrapbook…





Supplies:
Glue Dots®: Micro, Crafts,
Cardstock: Two shades of Green
Large Bottle Cap
Frame – 12 x 12
Moss I got at the Craft store – this is the part I know is NOT acid free…
Large and small Circle Punch – or circle cutter of some kind…
Sizzix Die cut letter and machine to cut them. Or any letter you might have

Directions:

1) Cut Letter to spell “Natural Beauty” I used a letter with a shadow. My Micro Glue Dots® works the best to adhere the shadow to the letter… LOVE my new Micro Dots®.




2) Matt your photo with Three mats.. this really make a single photo stand out.. Light green, then dark green then back to the light green…
3) Punch two circles out – one large circle and one just a little smaller.



4) I used a engraving machine to write “Palomar Mountain” inside of the Bottle Cap.
5) Start assembling your page as seen..
6) Now the part where I “think out of the box”, I place LOTS of Glue Dots® in the bottom left hand corner of the page. Then I place my moss over the Glue Dots® and press the moss down hard… Add a little more Glue Dots® and moss at the bottom right hand corner of the photo.. (so Not acid free)
7) Place project in a frame an hang on a wall..

Paperclay Steampunk book - part 2

Hope you stop by a few days ago and check out my Paperclay Steampunk Book with video. In the first part I had a video for you on how to make the Paperclay book covers. How cool was that! This part I will continue to show you the rest of the inside pages and two more video. First video is on how I made some of the embellishment that are feature on the inside pages. I used Sakura Hobby Craft Jewelry Finding and Fancy Glass Tiles...

this page I used a sticker Tags I owned from EK Success. The stamp on the right hand page is one from the Sheet of Steampunk Stamp I got from Viva Las Vegastamps!
I wrapped the side of the page with string and hung a Jewelry Finding with Steampunk clip Art. See video on how to make. Also used another Tag to make a tab for the page.


On this page I stamped the Food Grinder from viva Las Vegastamps! using India Ink and you can see the over side of the last page with the string...
I add a tag by adhere it to my page with Miracle Tape also from Viva Las Vegastamps! and added some clip art images. Behind the tag is more stamp image and a clip art image.



Well we have made it to the last page. Here you can still see how I used the gear mask and Memories Mist "Pale Ale" to make my background. I stamps the Man riding large wheele with India Ink. There is a large old fashion safety Pin I hung a embellishment from (see video on how to make). The Person image is from my steampunk CD of clipArt - BUT I used a Stamp Die Cut - Die Cutted the image with Silver paper and then I used some Alcohol Inks to age the silver. Also see in video how I did that same technique to a jewelry finding.

Now it time to learn how to bind this book - get your safety Pins out.
