Steampunk Canvas

I have been playing again with my steampunk stamps from Viva Las Vegastamps! love them...
I start off with a 8 x 10 canvas I got at Big Lots for 99 cents.. love that! I painted the whole canvas with a soft blue acrylic paint - but it was just too strong of a color. So I added some "Burnt Sienna" Glaze from Golden - this help age it some. But just not enough for me...
So then I cover the whole page with old dress pattern tissue (got at a garage sale). OK - I'm liking it now...
I pull out my Clock Mask from Tim Holtz and sprayed over the mask with Memories Mist "Pale Ale". Add some swirl stamps using two different brown inks.
Then I stamped both the Flying Man, steampunk camel and Airship onto White cardstock with a brown ink - cut out images. sprayed with Pale Ale Memories Mist to age...

The large Silver and Gold Gears are a special - I am test out a new product - NOT on the market yet. so Can't tell you much about them. But I like them.. do you????

Die cuted the Clock - another Tim Holtz die.. Added ink to age...
The Flower is also stamp - 4 - 5 petal stamps - see my video on how to make at Click Here
The word "Steampunk" is a stamp.

NOW i just put it together - using my Miracle Tape and some Crystal Lacquer to adhere the small gears down. Did you see all the gears on the camel. That took a while. LOL

Have any questions - please let me know..

I would love to get to 200 or more followers of my blog, so I think I will give you guys a chance at getting one of my mini books.. This time I just made this 3" x 3" book using Graphic 45 Steampunk Paper, their Tags and some Crystal Lacquer from Sakura.

Here is my book.
This whole book is made with 1 sheet of Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Paper, Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Tags, some eyelet and 3-D Crystal lacquer..

Cover: Used a Tag from the Graphic 45 "Steampunk Debutante Collection Tags. Added some blue Crystal Lacquer to the flowers... added some ribbon...

Page 1 and page 2: Again just used the tag that are on the Steampunk Tag sheet from Graphic 45. You can get your Graphic 45 paper at Gee Gee Stamp and Stuff in Carlsbad, Ca if you live around here. I do some Design Work for that store. There is a link on by side bar... Cute photo of the store too...
Anyways, check out the small tag on the right hand page. See how I used 3-D Crystal lacquer on the dress form.

Can't really see this - but there are three place where there are pockets for tags and stuff..

Page 3 and page 4: Here I used more 3-D Crystal Lacquer on the butterfly boarder across the bottom. Made a tag pocket and filled with small tags from the Graphic 45 tag sheet.

Pages 5 and Page 6: Used 3-D Crystal Lacquer on all three of the images on the right hand page. Pop up the center imges.. there is a tag coming out of the side pocket there?? hope you can see that..

Page 7 and Page 8 - just some tags from the tag sheet. I did use some of my eyelets I own to embellish the tags...

Page 9 and Page 10 - Love the image on the background paper. so made sure it was showing.

page 10 and Page 11 - OMG, I love the Lightbulb tag. HAD to use my 3-D Crystal Lacquer on just the bulb part. Love the way this came out... just love my crystal lacquer...

Paperclay Steampunk book - part 2

Hope you stop by a few days ago and check out my Paperclay Steampunk Book with video. In the first part I had a video for you on how to make the Paperclay book covers. How cool was that! This part I will continue to show you the rest of the inside pages and two more video. First video is on how I made some of the embellishment that are feature on the inside pages. I used Sakura Hobby Craft Jewelry Finding and Fancy Glass Tiles...

Here is the video on how I made the embellishment in this book.

Here are more of the inside pages.

this page I used a sticker Tags I owned from EK Success. The stamp on the right hand page is one from the Sheet of Steampunk Stamp I got from Viva Las Vegastamps!
I wrapped the side of the page with string and hung a Jewelry Finding with Steampunk clip Art. See video on how to make. Also used another Tag to make a tab for the page.

On this page I stamped the Food Grinder from viva Las Vegastamps! using India Ink and you can see the over side of the last page with the string...
I add a tag by adhere it to my page with Miracle Tape also from Viva Las Vegastamps! and added some clip art images. Behind the tag is more stamp image and a clip art image.

Well we have made it to the last page. Here you can still see how I used the gear mask and Memories Mist "Pale Ale" to make my background. I stamps the Man riding large wheele with India Ink. There is a large old fashion safety Pin I hung a embellishment from (see video on how to make). The Person image is from my steampunk CD of clipArt - BUT I used a Stamp Die Cut - Die Cutted the image with Silver paper and then I used some Alcohol Inks to age the silver. Also see in video how I did that same technique to a jewelry finding.

Now it time to learn how to bind this book - get your safety Pins out.

Well I hope you enjoy this post, please leave me a comment. I really do live for them, and if you are not a follower yet, I would love it more if you become one..

Paperclay Steampunk book

I am just in love with steampunk right now.. So I made this amazing book out of paperclay and binded the book with Safety Pins, just like the tiny little steampunk book I made a few weeks ago... I do have a video showing how to bind this book will be up in a future post. I need to go to the city to upload the video. Sorry :(

Supply List

Alchohol ink: pesto, ginger, butterscotch

Memories Mist: Pale Ale

Memories Ink Pads: Ruby, Plum,

India Ink Pad

Palette InkPads: Cognac, Raw Sienna

Acyclic Paints: Shade of Browns

3-D Crystal Lacquer

Jewelry Findings from Sakura Hobby Craft

Stamps: Plate #1267 (steampunk), Fireman with Hose, Hand,

Paper clay

Red Line Tape

Ribbon

Safety Pins (my book I used 8 safety pins

Door Knob – by 7 gypsies

Clock parts – I purchase a used clock at a garage sale and took it apart.

Large old fashion keys. – I got one from K& company, the other is a real old key

Grunge – dies from Tim Holtz – I used the hingers,

Mini, larger tags

Old Fashion Safety pin – I did not use this one on the binding.

Glue Dots

Directions:

1) First make you paper clay book as seen in the video. Set aside to dry over night or in the LOW oven…

2) Measure you finished and dry paperclay book to figure out what size to make your pages. My book is about 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” – so I made my pages 3 ¾” x 3 ¾”. So I cut out 4 pages out of Cardstock to measure 3 ¾” x 7 ½” and folded the pages in half. IMPORTANT to read #3 first.

3) Before I cut my pages out. I started with 2 – 8 ½” x 11” cream cardstock and added Tim Holtz gear and clock masked to my cardstock spray each of the cardstock with Memories Mist “Pale Ale” over the maskes.. Do this on both sheets of cardstock. Then cut out your pages…

4) Now just have fun. I stamps different Steampunk images on my background and added lots of fun embellishments.

5) Once all my pages are done. I binded my book – see Video for this.

Cover: I painted with different color of brown Acrylic paint to make it look like leather.. Then I added the embellishments.

Here are all the pages....

Here is the first page. I used Tim Holtz mini grunge letter, ink with with a "plum" and "Ruby" ink. I used my new Micro Glue Dots for the letters. They work great for those mini letter...

Also checkout the key on the side, It is on a string, and I use it to keep the book closed. See how the background came out... Spray with Memories Mists and used Gear masks.. Love this look...

This is the next two pages. Here I used the Hinges from Tim Holtz. The stamps are all from Viva Las Vegas stamps. See the fireman - I stamp him in both "Ruby" and "India Ink" and cut him out and used Pop-Up Glue Dots to adhere. The suitcase is a Brad - yes a very large brad. The Finger is a stamp from Stampotique
I stamped and cut out image. Ink all edge to give a aged look.

Used that fireman stamp again from Viva Las Vegas stamps - great place to purchase your steampunk stamps they have lots of them..
I used come copper wire to hang a small key next to the Sakura Jewelry Finding, I made into an embellishment. Love the Big Farris Wheel stamp, Also from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.
Used a tag - folded it in half and add to side of page for a tab.

Lots going on here. The clock face is a real clock face and I used Tim Holtz Spinner for the center of the clock face. The Glass Tile embellishment is from Sakura. I made using their Glass Tile and steampunk clip art. The stamps are all from Viva Las Vegas Stamps
I used a tag and more clip art. See how I made the embellishment on the right side page with the gears in it.. That another Jewelry finding from Sakura, real clock gear and 3-D Crystal Lacquer.

This is all I am going to show you in this post. come back in a couple days and I will continue to show you the next 4 pages and a video on how to bind this book. also another video on how to make those embellishments I made from Sakura.

FaveCraft Blog Hop

It's time for another great Favecraft Blog HOP! and I am just in love with Steampunk right now. So I make this tiny little steampunk book. It's just 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". Yes, it tiny... but it's so cute...

Here is the cover of my tiny book. I used glass as my covers (both front and back cover), I got this glass from Sakura.
The images are all from a Steampunk CD I have. and lots of gears and clock faces.

This is just one of the pages in my tiny book, the book only has 8 pages total...
I stamp each page with some Di Vince Stamp I own from Stampington.
The clock face are from real clocks and the spinner is Tim Holtz..
I used a snap to close my book and used one of Tim Holtz pearls to add a little more to it..

I used safety-pins and ribbon to bind my book together. I show this tiny book to lots of people at CHA and it was a hit...

This page I used gears from Tim Holtz and the clock face is also from him.... Again stamp my background with Di Vince Stamps.
You can see the snap really well in this photo.

I hope that you become a follower of mine and come back and enjoy all the other amazing project I will bring to you - some with video...

Hop on back to Favecraft and see the other amazing project they have there...
